The Tampa International Airport Airside 'F' Modification project included a $27.6 million dollar renovation to expand its oldest airside terminal to accommodate increased international flights and eliminate bottlenecks at security gates and baggage claim areas.
Two baggage claim carousels and two additional passport booths were added to the international baggage claim arrival area. These supplementary components and the increased square footage will accommodate up to 900 passengers arriving at the same time. The security clearance checkpoint area and queuing space on the boarding level were expanded to move passengers quicker and reduce wait times. The existing concession areas were relocated to expand the security area. The additions to the Airside ‘F’ terminal enabled future growth opportunities for the Airport.
