Streamsong Lodge
The history of Streamsong started over 15 million years ago when, what is now land in Central Florida, was submerged in warm waters sheltering prehistoric marine life. Their bones settled into deeply layered sediments, creating massive phosphate rock deposits that were discovered in the 19th century. This reclamation land presented an interesting challenge as we were tasked with creating a place where no physical construct of context existed–the proverbial blank slate upon which to build something. Sited in the heart of 250,000 acres of mining territory with no nearby city, we had no choice but to embrace the water, land, and expansive sky as generators.
